We are very excited to announce that Mrs. Rebecca Eddy has been selected as our Lone Grove Primary Teacher of the Year! For the past 14 years, Mrs. Eddy has taught first and second grade here at Lone Grove Primary and previously taught in Ardmore for a number of years. She is married to her husband Levi and will celebrate their 20 year wedding anniversary this June. When Mrs. Eddy is not teaching, she is busy taking care of her three children. Her daughter Carolanne is 18 and a senior, son Benjamin is 15 and a freshman, and son Ryan is 3.
Her peers chose to recognize Mrs. Eddy as the Lone Grove Primary Teacher of the Year because of her true “gift” of teaching-the ability to truly light up the classroom with inspiration. Mrs. Eddy is one of those teachers you come across once in a great while. She is popular with students, families, and colleagues.
Students love her because she is kind, loving, fun, and cares about them. Mrs. Eddy gets to know every student in her class as a whole person and she uses each child’s unique strengths to help them overcome their struggles and achieve success academically, socially, and emotionally. Simply put, her students know that she believes in them. Mrs. Eddy is also gifted at working with families. She is patient and always makes the time to listen to families’ concerns for their children. If needed, she provides resources and strategies to the family to help support them and their child. Finally, Mrs. Eddy is a leader on her grade level and is always available to discuss and share ideas for lessons and activities. She is always supportive and full of advice that never fails to help.
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Rebecca Eddy, our Lone Grove Primary Teacher of the Year!
